Silverdale School students are celebrating today as they opened their GCSE and Level 2 vocational qualification results, with students achieving an impressive Attainment 8 score of 61.0, the highest since the introduction of the measure.

A total of 182 students sat exams across 27 different subjects, achieving a brilliant:

    • 33.3% achieving the highest grades of Grade 7 to 9 in English and Maths
    • 75% at Grade 5 or above in English and Maths
    • 90% at Grade 4 or above in English and Maths

Across the school’s broad and inclusive curriculum, 46% of all grades awarded were at Grades 7 to 9, with twenty-two students achieving the exceptional outcome of Grade 7 to 9 in all their subjects.

One of the results the school is particularly proud of is the achievement of its educationally disadvantaged students, who achieved in line with the national average for all students. This is a significant achievement and reflects Silverdale’s commitment to ensuring that every young person is supported to fulfil their potential.

Headteacher Jim Smith said, “We are incredibly proud of our students and the results they have achieved. These results are a reflection of their commitment, resilience and fantastic work ethic throughout their time at Silverdale.

“Today is about celebrating every student and the journey they have taken to reach this point. We are incredibly excited to see what they go on to achieve.

“We wish every one of our students the very best as they take their next steps. Whether they are staying with us in Sixth Form, heading to college, beginning an apprenticeship, we know they have so much to offer.

“I would also like to thank our parents and carers for the incredible support they have given their children, and our dedicated staff for the care, encouragement and expertise they have provided throughout the students’ journey.

“Today is their day. We are immensely proud of every single one of them and excited for what comes next.”
