Our school ethos – Outstanding Achievement for All – continues to guide everything we do. It reflects our belief that every young person, regardless of background or starting point, has the potential to achieve beyond expectations. We are ambitious for all our students, and we work tirelessly to ensure they have every opportunity to thrive.
At the heart of Silverdale’s success is the exceptional quality of teaching. We have a team of talented, passionate, and dedicated staff who go above and beyond to inspire students and support their learning. Through expertly delivered lessons and high expectations, our students consistently achieve some of the best academic outcomes in the city and beyond.

However, education at Silverdale is about far more than examination results. We believe in providing a rich, broad, and balanced curriculum, with strong provision across science, technology, humanities, the arts, languages, and sport. This gives students the opportunity to discover their strengths, pursue their interests, and develop into well-rounded individuals.
Our vibrant extracurricular programme reflects the diversity and energy of our school community. Whether it’s on the stage, in the lab, on the sports field or through volunteering, Silverdale students flourish as individuals and as members of a wider community. We are proud to see them achieving at a national level, contributing locally, and developing the confidence to make their mark on the world.
We want every student to leave Silverdale not only with excellent qualifications but also with the character, resilience and empathy needed to navigate life beyond school. That’s why we place equal importance on pastoral care. Our team of dedicated staff provides consistent support, while our clear behaviour expectations and inclusive culture help students feel safe, valued, and empowered.
Silverdale is a diverse, welcoming and outward-looking school community. With over 30 languages spoken and a wealth of cultural perspectives, we are stronger because of our differences. I am proud to lead a school where students grow not only academically, but as kind, thoughtful and active citizens.
I look forward to working with our students, families and staff as we continue to build on Silverdale’s many strengths and ensure our determination to provide every student with the opportunity to exceed expectations remains at the heart of everything we do.
Silverdale is a unique place, full of energy, ambition and care. It’s a school where young people are supported to be their best selves, to aim high and to develop the skills and confidence they need for the future. I’m confident that Silverdale is a great choice for any young person looking to learn, grow and enjoy their school experience.
