Mark graduated with a first-class degree in Sports Science from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2008, before qualifying as a PE teacher at Loughborough University. As a lifelong sport enthusiast, Mark originally joined Silverdale in 2012 as a PE teacher and went on to gain extensive middle leadership experience as Subject Leader for PE and Key Stage 3 Leader.

Passionate about exemplary pastoral care and supporting young people to achieve their potential, Mark has spent the last five years in senior leadership roles across two schools. Over the course of the last three years, he has worked at Westfield School as Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour and Attitudes, where he has played a key role in driving school improvement.

Mark is delighted to be re-joining Silverdale as Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form. He is excited to work collaboratively with students, staff and the wider community to help make Silverdale Sixth Form the leading post-16 provider in South Yorkshire, with an inclusive and innovative focus at the heart of its provision.
