Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer and your children are looking forward to the year ahead.
As well as having very enjoyable holidays, a highlight of our summer was the GCSE and A-level results days.

I am very pleased to report that, once again, our students have performed exceptionally well at
GCSE and A-level. At GCSE, 42% of all grades were 7–9 and 77% of students achieved five grade 4’s or above, including English and Maths. At A-level, 39% of grades were A/A* and 83% of grades were A*–C.

Silverdale continues to have high expectations of both academic standards and conduct centred around the ‘Silverdale Way’ where everyone is ‘Ready, Respectful and Safe’. This year, we have plans to further improve our teaching in all classrooms and to develop our consistent routines within the classroom in order to maximise learning time.

Uniform and Equipment
Please support your child’s positive start to the new term by ensuring they are wearing the correct uniform and are fully equipped to learn. We plan to check uniform and basic equipment (including planner) in the morning as we welcome our students into school, and you will receive a message if they are not fully equipped or wearing the correct uniform.

If you have any good quality uniform items (including trousers and shoes) that are no longer needed, please donate them to school via school reception.
