Silverdale students celebrate GCSE results

Year 11 students at Silverdale School have been celebrating their GCSE and Level 2 vocational qualification results.
Silverdale’s class of 2025 achieved exceptionally well, with 83.0% passing both English and maths with 71.3% gaining a ‘strong pass’ (grade 5) or better in these two subjects – both measures even stronger than last year’s already impressive base.
The school’s vibrant and successful community attracts students from diverse population, who have the opportunity to study a broad curriculum across a wide range of subject areas. As well as the more traditional subjects – maths, English, science, humanities and modern foreign languages - this year’s Year 11 students sat exams in subjects as varied as health and social care, Russian, sociology, music, 3D design, business, drama and Greek.
Students have much to be proud of. They have worked hard and are now reaping the rewards, with grades that are opening doors to bright futures. In fact, many of them will return in September to embark on sixth form life at Silverdale’s inclusive Sixth Form, judged by Ofsted to be ‘outstanding’ in its last inspection, and which is now housed in a purpose-built Sixth Form facility.
Head of Silverdale School, Sarah Sims, said: “The Silverdale staff and I are proud of our Year 11 students, who have worked hard to obtain the qualifications necessary for their next steps. Our thanks also go to their families and Silverdale staff, who have supported them throughout their studies.
“We are looking forward to welcoming many of them back to our Silverdale Sixth Form in September to continue their studies. Wherever they choose to continue their journey, we wish them the very best of luck.”
