At Silverdale, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. Through our Inclusion First approach, we believe that every pupil should be known, valued, supported and challenged to achieve their very best.

We work closely with families, primary schools and external professionals to identify needs early and ensure support is in place from the start. Throughout a pupil's time at Silverdale, pastoral, safeguarding and SEND leaders work together to review needs, remove barriers and coordinate support.

Quality First Teaching

The most important support for pupils with SEND happens every day in the classroom through high-quality teaching.

Our teachers use detailed knowledge of individual pupils to adapt learning, scaffold tasks, model success and provide appropriate challenge. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils can access an ambitious curriculum and experience success while maintaining high expectations for everyone.

Developing consistently strong adaptive teaching across all classrooms is a key priority. Staff receive ongoing professional development to strengthen inclusive classroom practice and remove barriers to learning without lowering expectations.

Additional Support

Where pupils require additional support, targeted interventions and specialist provision complement classroom teaching. Our aim is always to develop independence, promote participation and help every pupil thrive in school and beyond.
