‘Outstanding Achievement For All’

Everyone feels welcomed and that they belong

At Silverdale we aim for all students, staff, parents and visitors to feel welcomed as soon as they enter the school, that they belong to the Silverdale community and that Silverdale belongs to them. We aim for everyone in our community to unite together as one and feel proud to be part of Silverdale.

Everyone feels known and are cared for

We aim to know all our students as individuals. What their likes and dislikes are, what their dreams and ambitions are, as well as how they best learn and achieve. We want everyone at Silverdale to feel as though they are looked after and supported at all times by each other.

Everyone’s talents are nurtured and their achievements celebrated

Silverdale is an academic school with high expectations of all our students and staff and we encourage and celebrate this. However, we recognise that everyone is intelligent in different ways. Silverdale develops, recognises and celebrates all of our students’ and staffs’ achievements in a wide array of areas which enrich our community and school experience.

Everyone experiences outstanding teaching/training and support

We want all our students to experience the best possible learning through engaging, lively, thought provoking and ambitious teaching. To achieve this, we will ensure that all staff have access to top quality professional development which supports them to achieve the very best from our students.

Everyone achieves beyond expectation

We want staff and students to reach beyond where they think they can achieve and aspire to greatness. We believe ‘the greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.’

Everyone is prepared for the future and plays a positive part in society

We believe that it is our duty to help prepare young people to take their place in modern British society and play an active role as positive citizens. We aim for everyone at Silverdale to view themselves not just as citizens of Sheffield, or even Britain, but as part of a global society.
